Discovering inner resources
Children, like adults, have within a tremendous amount of resources that could be used. More than 90% of these resources are unfortunately not accessible to our conscious mind. As we leave in a fast moving world, our bodies come in contact with enormous quantities of stimuli all the time and in order to be able to deal with it, most of the information is being blocked by our consciousness.
LifeCoachStylist will guide children towards their inner resources and help them build successful strategies to get in contact and make use of internal resources in a conscious way.
Super-learning: new strategies
Albert Einstein, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
SuperLearning is the ability to learn an immense amount of information in a fairly short amount of time. Discovering which type of learner one is, facilitates the learning process. Most of the children use the visual chanel as the main learning channel, but the auditory and kinesthetic are widely employed as well.
With the help of the LifeCoachStylist, children can become more self-aware of their learning behaviour and can adopt new learning strategies in order to achieve better results.
Relaxing and having fun
Being a child is often associated with having fun. But there are times even children forget how to have fun, due to homework load, family issues, sports, etc. Having to work hard for achieving a goal might switch off the fun button and we might find that kids are acting more like adults, taking adults responsibilities rather than enjoying childhood.
Each child is unique and each one has a personal way of expressing oneself, individual ways of dealing with everyday issues. From a relaxed state of mind one is able to get a wider access to inner resources. LifeCoachStilist can facilitate ways of learning to get relaxed whenever the child needs it and to recognise what are the personal needs in certain situations.
Frustration and refusal management
Many young children struggle with frustration tolerance. Powerful emotions such as frustration and anger manifest with intense reactions on the spot. When we are born we don’t get a frustration management manual and we have to learn how to deal with it step by step.
As adults we can learn from our body signals when something is wrong or when our anger buttons are being pushed, and we can easily reframe the situation so that we can deal with frustration. The good news is that kids too can learn and develop coping strategies to deal with frustration.
LifeCoachStylist can help your child to learn about body mapping so that she/he can make the connection between the body and emotions, as well as learning about triggers such as: transitions, negative peer interactions, challenging academics, feeling misunderstood by an adult, lack of control, hunger, exhaustion, unexpected situations, etc.
For children it is difficult to be in a situation where there is a difference of opinion. Emotions are not easy to control and sometimes physical cues are difficult to interpret. In a situation where there is a difference of opinion, information tends to be filtered and interpreted by each individual according to her/his personal set of beliefs and past experiences.
This may lead to forming a negative opinion, which will make the child feel irritated, anxious, deflated, angry or frustrated. The body will react to this by showing tension signs, such as twitches, arms crossing, leaning forward, breathing faster. All of these will have an impact on the behaviour and will influence in a negative way the next information that comes towards the child. And the circle continues!
LifeCoachStylist can help the child to identify personal body cues for tense situations, identify negative beliefs that usually puts her/him into a negative state of mind, and to be self aware.
Kids tend to be more energetic than adults and sometimes the grownups instead of making use of the extra energy just try to oppress it. While being in school, during classes, kids are being demanded to sit quietly and absorb as much information as possible.
Only for some kids this seems quite impossible. LifeCoachStylist can assist kids with finding their own way of dealing with extra energy, of finding inner resources in stressful situations such as exams or sports competitions, finding ways of calming oneself down and also defining personal ways of getting an energy boost when needed.
A commitment to change
This coaching program is an exciting, transformative journey and I encourage all my clients to make it a priority in their lives and to commit to their development.
In my experience, and that of my clients, it takes a matter of sessions to start to shift the way we think. Yet, I work with clients who want more than mindset shifts. They want deep, lasting change and to create a life that is truly fulfilling. This is an intense, yet rewarding process with regular reviews and a structure specifically designed to make the most of your time.”
